Other Activities

At Brighouse Bay we have many activities for everyone to enjoy.

Go swimming in the sea, build sandcastles, explore rock pools, play beach volleyball or just write your name in the sand! Enjoy relaxing on our own beach just through the ancient woodland alongside the park.

We have wildlife ponds on the park for children and their parents to enjoy. Fishing enthusiasts there is sea angling from the rocks along the pretty coastline.

For adrenalin junkies, we’ve built mountain bike trails and a pump track near the Leisure Club.

Seeking a more leisurely bike ride? If you have your own bicycle we’ve got plenty of roads in and around the park for the family to enjoy, but please remember to bring your safety helmet.  Outwith the park the area’s ideal for cycling with quiet lanes and good views and we’re just a couple of miles off the beautiful Sustrans route 7.

Test your skill or challenge the family on our 9 hole family putting green.

Children can go pony trekking (seasonal) starting from the age of 4. Children aged 10 or under must be led by an adult and remember to wear trousers and trainers or shoes.

For the nature lovers we have plenty of woodland and coast line to enjoy.

Brighouse Bay is a paradise for wildlife lovers too: spot mallards, roe deer, swans, heron, hares, rabbits, enjoy the birdsong and see perennial (blue) flax on the foreshore, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the only place in Scotland you’ll find this rare plant growing wild.

For the future Rory MacIlroy’s try out our pitch and putt.

Remember building sandcastles on the beach? You can do that here! Or swim in the sea, explore rockpools, play beach volleyball or write your name in the sand….

Enjoy the relaxation of our wildlife ponds.

Fun & excitement for all the family on our pump track and bike trails.

Our all-tide slipway allowing access to the sheltered bay

Run or ramble the self-guided nature walks, coastal and other routes including a path from Brighouse to the nearby village of Borgue.

Trek around the park on our native ponies suitable for children from the age of 4.
